Chicago Campus Voting Challenge

About The Challenge:

The Chicago Campus Voting Challenge was a nonpartisan competition among higher education institutions in Chicago committed to increasing student voter participation and engagement for the November 3, 2020, general election. America’s Urban Campus, Chicago’s consortium of higher education institutions, facilitated this voting challenge in collaboration with the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, a national nonpartisan nonprofit, and Campus Compact Illinois.

Awards for Chicago and Illinois were given in a virtual ceremony on November 9th, 2021 to recognize both 4-year institutions and 2-year institutions, including highest voter turnout, most improved voter turnout, and the highest rate of voter registration –and based on student voter participation in the November 2020 election using data from the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement, (NSLVE).

In all, 21 campuses participated in the 2020 Chicago Campus Challenge, Click here for a list of the participating schools and statistics from both 2018 and 2020.
